I am in L-O-V-E with Sugar Scrubs.
They SMELL great, and they are EASY and CHEAP to make.
They EXFOLIATE the skin and make it feel so nice and SOFT!
I can’t believe I use to buy them from a store!!
Today, I thought I would share my Coconut Sugar Scrub.
I love the smell of coconut.
I just used the sugar scrub, and as I sit here typing,
I can’t stop touching my hands to feel how soft they feel.
Oh, and not that I recommend it, but The Husband says it taste good!
“Like an Almond Joy, but without the almonds.”
He thought, for the sake of the blog, of course, that he would sample it.
Now, I don’t like oily sugar scrubs.
I have seen some online, that say to add 1 cup oil. 1 cup!
Yikes. That is a lot of oil, in my book.
I don’t want my hands, body, or feet to feel all oily.
I want soft and smooth.
Coconut Sugar Scrub
Here is what you will need:
1 cup White Sugar
1/4 cup Coconut Oil
I like to mix it up a little at a time.
Place coconut oil in a bowl, mix in 1/2 the sugar.
Combine with the back of a spoon or mix it with your hand.
Add in remaining sugar, and mix until combined.
To use:
Put a small amount of scrub in one hand.
Get the other hand wet.
And scrub!
Rinse well and pat dry.
Use on your hands, feet, elbows, knee’s
or anywhere else that needs a good scrub.
Make sure you don’t get water in the jar of your scrub.
You don’t want anything icky growing in it!
Enjoy!
I will share my Peppermint Sugar Scrub and my Lemon Sugar Scrub in the near future!

Hi! I bought some organic coconut oil but it does not have a smell. Is there a certain brand you used?
hmm It should have a light coconuty scent. I have bought Nutiva, and a local no name brand. I have a sample from Tropical Traditions that should be coming in the mail soon.
I used LouAna coconut oil and am very disappointed to say that my scrub has absolutely zero scent…how do you suggest I correct this? Would adding coconut extract maybe fix my problem?
Patricia, I would think that would work. I’d add at least 1 tsp of coconut extract. Sorry your coconut oil doesn’t have any scent!
Robyn
Thanks for your input! Time to experiment
Patricia, How did it go with adding the coconut extract? I bought some when I was at the store to experiment with. lol I have to say that I love the scent of Nutiva the best. I bought it at my local health food store. Maybe you can find it the next time you need to buy some?!

I was just going to ask about the oil… I’m getting questions, myself! Just blogged about this via The Pinterest Project site!! Thank you for this!

Ryo really did taste it and it has his thumbs up. lol Now, if I could just find some food recipes to make with it, I would be set!
I bet these smell great
Thanks so much for sharing them with us over at our Keep Calm & Link Up party… hope to see you again this Thursday!
Thanks Sarah!!
I have really acne prone skin, do you think using the louana brand coconut oil will make me break out. I think its the same but some of my organic freaked out friends think it could be bad for my skin? What do you think?
Alyssa, I have read that coconut oil is good for those with acne. In fact, I told my daughter she should use coconut oil on her face. lol Of course, she thought mom was crazy.
