(To make a smaller batch use 1 teaspoon gelatin and 1 teaspoon lemon juice.)
and then apply a light coat to my nose, chin, etc.It cools quickly, and will start to harden,
so you need to be some what quick when you are applying it.
Avoid getting it on your eyebrows or on your hair line.
It WILL pull eyebrows out!
(Ouch! Trust me you don’t want to walk around
with part of them missing!
It is just plain embarrassing!!)
Leave on for 30 minutes or until completely dry and peel off face.
that pulled off onto the mask,
but it came out to blurry and you couldn’t really see it.
As a side note, I left my paper cup in the bathroom,
and when I came back,
The Husband had applied the mask to his nose.
The mask has his approval too!

This brings back memories of my teen years trying to get rid of the blackheads in any way possible – I used to use a product called Snap which was basically sand in mineral oil. Very harsh for the skin.
Your “recipe” sounds like it would work really gently – a key to removing blackheads.
Thanks for visiting my little blog project and following along.
Those teen years were the worst!
Thanks so much for coming over and checking out my link on your party!

Wow! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Those pore strips can be costly…what a great money saving alternative! Giving this a shout out on my FB page!
Thanks Michelle! That is so nice of you to share it on your facebook page!

I’m trying it now. Forgot to microwave it… so we’ll see. lol My guess would be that the heat just helps everything dissolve better so it’s easier to put on. I’ll let you know. hehe
LoL. Yeah it won’t work if it isn’t microwaved. I hope you like it. Make sure it is totally dry before you take it off.

Very interesting idea. I just might have to try this. Thanks for sharing at the All Star Block Party.

Robyn,
Thanks so much for stopping by Creative Thursday this week. I couldn’t do these parties without you. Can’t wait to see what you link up next week. Have a wonderful weekend.
What a fabulous DIY. Those pore strips are a fortune. Love stuff that’s hubby approved too
Michelle
Thanks Michelle!
I can’t wait to slather my face with this mask. I love the way I feel after any mask and this one is way too easy not to try.
Your post has been featured at Wednesday Whatsits. Thanks so much for sharing!

Aww! Thanks Julie! Be careful with slathering it on your entire face. It hurts to peel it off your cheeks. The Husband and I laughed so hard at each other when we were peeling it off the first time. I put it all over his face too. The pain hasn’t stopped me from putting it on all of my face though!
Didn’t work for me
In what way didn’t it work? It works great on the both of us. Sorry it didn’t work for you. If your comment wasn’t left as anonymous I would have contacted you personally.
Robyn
Well we’ll see! It’s on my face right now:) What exactly is the benefit of the lemon?
Well it didn’t work too well unfortunately. My face does feel fresh though! And you were right about it hurting on your cheeks >.< But it didn’t really remove any of my blackheads
Well Bummer! I am sorry it didn’t work on your blackheads! The lemon just makes it smell better than using milk or plain water. Although, lemon is suppose to be good for your skin.
Interesting recipe. I will have to give this a try. Now to convince my husband that I haven’t gone crazy when he spots me putting gelatin on my face. Lol.
LOL Mine went in the bathroom and came out with it on his face! I hope you liked it!
I’ve been looking for a good tutorial for home made pore strips! I will definitely have to try this one out.
I hope you like it! I think I will go make some up and put it on right now!
