Oatmeal is not just for eating. It is also a great moisturizer for the skin. I have been washing my face with this oatmeal face wash since February, when I saw it on Potholes and Pantyhose, and I am lovin’ it. I haven’t washed my face with anything else, which makes me happy in my wallet and on my face.
It is cheap!
It is organic!
and
It is super easy to make!
Here is what you will need:
1 sterile Jar of your choice (Use a recycled jar, if you can. I used an 8 oz canning jar.)
1 cup Organic Oatmeal
First, you need to ground up the oatmeal. You can do this by using a coffee grinder or a food processor.
Place oatmeal in your jar and store it in your bathroom where you will have easy access to it.
When you are ready to use your face wash, place a small amount of the oatmeal in the palm of your hand. Using your other hand, turn on the faucet and add a small amount of water to the oatmeal. Mix the two together and then you can start to wash your face. You do want to avoid getting the oatmeal your hairline. Speaking from experience, it isn’t the easiest thing to get out of your hair!
I always apply my favorite moisturizer to my face after washing it. You can find it here-> Whipped Coconut Body Butter.
Later this week I will share a easy Oatmeal and Honey Face Mask recipe with you. It is on my face right now, and it smells nice and honey-ey.
Have a great week and enjoy your nice clean face!

I did this when I was pregnant with my daughter. My skin went crazy and Oatmeal was one of the only things that worked. Love it.
Oh that is good to know!
Sounds like a great idea and would make a lovely gift! Enjoy your day!
Thanks Lois!
Thanks so much for sharing this on Natural Living Monday! I use an oatmeal/herb/clay face scrub every morning and LOVE it. I can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! http://wp.me/p2pBvv-AQ
