Coconut Oil Lip Balm

Do your lips feel dry? Do they look dull? If your lips could use a little pick me up, the powers of coconut oil can surely do the trick. Coconut oil is one of nature’s remedies for dry, cracked lips that need moisture. You could buy your own pre made coconut oil lip balm, but why not try making your own instead? It is easier than you may think, and when you are done you will have a natural coconut oil lip balm product made by you! Take a peek below at how simple it is to whip up a batch.

Coconut Oil Lip Balm

Supplies needed:
2 teaspoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon beeswax
2 drops of vitamin E
Small tin with lid

You can find all of these ingredients at your local health food store or farmer’s market. A little goes a long way, so if you buy these items in bulk you will have plenty to make additional batches in the future or as gifts for friends.

1. Begin by grating the beeswax until you have a teaspoons worth.
2. Combine the beeswax, coconut oil, and vitamin e into a bowl. Use a spoon or fork to mix well.
3. Once the paste is formed, you can press it into your tin. An old candy tin or Altoids tin works great and has the lid you need on it already! Just press the mixture in and press the lid down tightly.

Allow your lip balm some time to set. About an hour is typically sufficient. Once it is set, you are ready to use it. Simply apply it to your lips with your finger or make up brush. You will notice how wonderful it smells, how rich it feels, and how great it moisturizes!

Give this simple coconut oil lip balm a try and you are sure to have soft and moisturized lips for less.
