Homemade donuts are so delicious and perfect because you can make them in any flavor you want. Throw in a few tastes of the holidays by adding fresh cranberries and hint of citrus for a donut that is tastes so amazing that you won’t be able to eat just one. Cranberry Orange Donuts are the perfect grab for breakfast!
1 stick softened butter
1 cup sugar
1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp orange zest
1 2⁄3 cup flour
1 1⁄4 tsp baking powder
1⁄2 tsp salt
1⁄4 cup milk
1⁄4 cup orange juice
2⁄3 cup chopped, fresh cranberries
1 cup powdered sugar
1⁄2 Tbsp orange zest
1⁄4 cup milk
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly spray 2 nonstick donut pans with cooking spray. Set aside.
Cream together butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla extract, eggs and orange zest.
In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add 1⁄2 of the dry ingredients to butter mixture and stir until just combined. Add milk and stir. Add remaining dry ingredients and stir. Add orange juice and stir. Fold in chopped cranberries.
Spoon mixture into gallon sized Ziploc bag and close. Cut off corner of bag and squeeze batter into the wells of the donut pan.
Bake donuts at 325 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to wire racks and cool completely.
In a small bowl, whisk together glaze ingredients. Dip donuts into the glaze and set on wire rack to dry for at least 30 minutes.
