DIY Dip Mix Ornaments

I have had a crazy week and a half with a doggie that is in a terrible amount of pain. I had so many things planned that never got posted. Ugh! Life does that sometimes. It gets in the way of blogging. One thing I have learned over the past two years of blogging, is that no matter how much I love blogging and sharing ideas with all of you, my LIFE has to come first. Not only for my own sanity but for those around me to. I thank all of you for understanding that!

I am going to share a couple of last minute Christmas gifts for you to make. This one is for 3 super cute DIY Ornaments that have dip mixes in them. These would be great to give as a hostess gift, a creative twist for an ornament swap, or a nice little something for your mailman or neighbor. Besides being super easy to make, they are also a very inexpensive gift to give away.

DIY DIP MIX ORNAMENTS:

Start by washing your ornaments and drying them well. Use a funnel to fill with dry ingredients, print and attach a label to identify flavor and the recipe. Cut paper out in a strip and run the scissor blade down the strip of paper, it will curl just like ribbon. You can either print out each instruction or you can write it out on your preferred label.

French Onion Dip Mix
1 Tbsp. beef bouillon granules
2 ½ Tbsp. dried onion flakes
1 tsp. onion powder
¼ tsp. Black pepper

To prepare: Add dry mix to 1 cup sour cream and ¾ cup mayonnaise. For best results refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Country Ranch Dip Mix
2 Tbsp. dried Parsley
1 tsp. Dill
1 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Onion powder
1 tsp. Dried Basil
½ tsp. Black pepper

To prepare: add dry mix to 1 ½ cups sour cream, and 2 Tbsp. milk or buttermilk. For best results refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Peppermint Hot Cocoa Mix
Stir together; 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder, 1 Tbsp. sugar, ¼ tsp. Cinnamon, and pinch of salt.
Crush 3 candy canes, or 2 Tbsp. if you are using pre-crushed candy pieces.
Funnel cocoa mix into ornament and top with crushed candy canes.

To prepare: add dry mix and crushed candy canes to 2 cups cool whip. For best results refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Add some curling ribbon and a tag to finish off these adorable gifts!

Merry Christmas!  Be sure and check out my Party page to see where I am linking up at!

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE PEPPERMINT HOT COCOA MIX BEING ADDED TO COOL WHIP. SHOULD IT NOT BE ADDED TO MILK OR HOT WATE? WHEN DOES IT BECOME HOT COCOA? THANKS FOR HELP.
