Kitchen Basics 101: Make Your Own Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix
Kitchen Basics 101

Pumpkin Pie Spice is one of those spices that everyone just buys, without thinking about the fact that they could be making it themselves. Not only is it easy to make, but it will save you money too. The ingredients that are needed are all staples in my kitchen cupboard and probably in yours too, if you like to bake. You only need 5 things to make up your own Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix; cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.  The next time you’re baking and a recipe calls for Pumpkin Pie Spice, why not try this easy Kitchen Basics 101 tip instead of running to the grocery store and spending almost $6.00 on a little container.

I liked this recipe so much that I posted it on my Facebook page! Thank you so much for sharing it. I pretty much always have those ingredients on hand but would have had no clue what proportions to mix them in to get the flavor right!

I love having pumpkin pie spice around! I find a lot of uses for it. I think this is great to have a recipe for the mix for emergency reasons. Actually, I think I would enjoy making fresh spice mix! Thanks so much for sharing this at the In and Out of the Kitchen Link Party. I will be pinning and look forward to seeing what you bring next week!

This is a great printable! In the spring I tried a new recipe that called for pumpkin pie spice mixed in butter. I didn’t want to buy a spice for 1 recipe, so I looked all over online for a recipe. I finally found one, and it is delicious mixed in butter. Will be pinning as a reference for my readers.

This is just great! Everytime I make pumpkin pie I have to make a special trip to the store for one of the spices. It would be really handy to pre-mix the spice and have it set aside special for pies! Thank you for sharing on the Four Season Blog Hop! Have a great weekend and hope to see you next week.

    Robyn,
I love this, I made some and use it for my Pumpkin Spice Pecan’s. I can’t wait to use it for my pie’s for Thanksgiving. I’m doing a post for my Pumpkin Spice Pecan’s and linking the Pumpkin Pie Spice back to your recipe and your blog.
I’ll let you know when it’s posted.
